Damascus to Daleville Slideshow

A really fun section that included The Grayson Highlands, Dismal Falls, Dragon's Tooth, McAfee Knob, and Tinker Cliffs. McAfee Knob and Tinker Cliffs comprise one of my favorite days on the trail. Dragon's Tooth offered incredible views, but the descent into camp was very difficult at the end of a long day. Dismal Falls and Trent's Grocery offered a nice distraction from the monotony of hiking. All you need to know about The Grayson Highlands is that there are ponies wondering around!

  1. Absolutely breathtaking!! Spring really sprung in this slide show. It was like being back home since this one covered most of our section hike this year. Thank you sooooo much for including these picture shows in your blog!!! We will be covering the rest of the AT in Virginia next year. We will start at mile 712 ish, Lambert Meadow shelter(after we hike the 3 mile straight up Andy Layne trail to get to the AT) to mile 1002(first wv/va border). We are hoping to get some resupply info from you and Dutch on this section. Hoping to carry as little food as possible.
    Peace and chicken grease✌️

    1. Glad you enjoyed it. It was been a fun trip down memory lane for me. I forgot how much I enjoyed Southern Virginia. Let me know when you are ready for some resupply info. I have a great document that covers what trail services you are likely to find in different towns. I found it pretty helpful when I planned my hike. I also hope to write up something similar (if I have the time)
